Damian Booth

Trustee

Damian Booth is a highly experienced systems leader with a strong track record of school improvement, leadership development, and multi-academy trust (MAT) strategy. As a trustee of the Great Learners Trust, he brings extensive experience across both primary and secondary education, with a particular focus on enabling schools to deliver high-quality learning for all pupils.

Damian has held senior executive roles including Acting Director of Education at a large Trust in the West Midlands where he led the education strategy for 19 schools. His career spans roles as Executive Headteacher, Headteacher, School Improvement Leader and local authority adviser. He has successfully led schools through challenging circumstances, improved educational outcomes, and driven strategic transformation, including overseeing quality assurance systems, curriculum development, and succession planning.

As a previous Ofsted inspector, Challenge Partners reviewer, and peer review leader, Damian brings a strong commitment to accountability and collaboration. He has also played a key role in MAT development, supporting growth, sustainability, and cross-school partnerships.

Damian holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership, NPQH, and a Level 7 Award in Strategic Management. His blend of strategic insight, operational expertise, and passion for inclusive education enables him to make a significant contribution to the governance and vision of the Great Learners Trust.
