Central Team

The Central Team is dedicated to inspiring excellence and empowering futures for all. We foster a collaborative culture that promotes best practises, open communication and trust. At GLT, we are committed to providing a stimulating and enriching environment where students and educators can thrive, learn, and grow. 

The Central Team is accountable for achieving the Great Learners Trust vision, delivering the strategy, and ensuring it aligns with the needs of the schools and communities that GLT serves.

The Leadership team is responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation. This includes:

  • Creating a high-performing working culture for all staff that promotes collaboration, aspiration and support. 
  • Recognising the critical value of high-quality teaching and ensuring it is delivered across the trust schools.
  • Providing leadership across the three shared service areas. 
  • Working with School Leaders to identify areas for improvement and allocating the appropriate resources.
  • Offering support and guidance for School Leaders while also providing challenge and rigor to maintain continuous improvement of the schools and the Trust. 

The shared services teams work with schools to help them achieve excellence in all areas and to ensure the best outcomes for pupils and their families.

Education team: 

The team includes experienced school leaders with a range of specialist knowledge, such as School Improvement, SEND, DSL, Early Years, and PiXL Raising Standards. They support school leaders in all aspects of education and school improvement. Their roles include:

  • Driving continuous improvement through self-evaluation, challenge, support, and appropriate action.
  • Ensuring all schools offer a high-quality and inclusive education that is motivating and inclusive for all.
  • Coaching and mentoring colleagues.

Operations team: 

The team provides support in all areas of IT, HR, Estates, Website, Marketing, Procurement, Governance, Policy, and Compliance. They assist school leaders and administrators in carrying out their statutory duties, ensuring schools perform well and remain compliant. Their roles include:

  • Recognising the importance of effective and efficient resource use for the benefit of all schools.
  • Working with schools to review their current position and develop action plans as needed.

Finance team: 

The team can either support schools with local finance teams or provide a full financial service on behalf of schools. Their roles include:

  • Performing the statutory duties required by ESFA and DFE on behalf of schools.
  • Ensuring the Trust maximises value for money so that funding is prioritised for the core purpose of Teaching and Learning.
